I arrived home on Saturday, it’s good to be back. I went and picked up a FreeLoader on the way home so I can play Naruto 2 on my Gamecube. It’s an amazing fighter, well worth importing. The best part of being back is of course the skating. And the best part of the skating is the new digs. The high school did a little renovating and added a slight ramp with some ledges followed by an tiny two set. The coolest part is the 2 foot drop to the parking lot below. I landed some big kickflips off of it early on, then moved to nollies off of it. Finally today I landed a pretty huge bs flip off of it and then ended up kickflipping up it, which was probably the largest flip I’ve ever done. I was trying to 360 flip it along side of Dan, he ended up stamping one out, but I was suffering majorly from the heat and couldn’t continue. I was so close too. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to land it ever though, mostly because I can already picture the cage of rails they’re going to encompass this new spot with, effectively making it obsolete. Too bad too, it definitely helps inspire new life into this local scene. I better go skate it while I can.

Still haven’t done much down here. Mostly just stick around the house, play GTA San Andreas, or retry my hand at hiptop dev. Speaking of I retooled my main labor of love, a typing tutor of sorts. WPM tracks your wpm score on the fly and also calculates a grand total at the end of a randomly generated sentence. It now can detect errors per typed character and plays a sound upon an error as well as printing a visual warning. I’m messing with some other app ideas involving random numbers and prime numbers, nothing for sure yet though. Other than that not much is new. I added a few cool buttons on the sidebar over there. The coolest of which is a dynamic image which changes whether I’m on or offline on AIM.

In Florida now with my brother and his family. They live in a nice apartment complex and we’ve been regularly hitting up the pool. Have done much in the way of anything besides swimming yet. Today we dropped by a book store, I was looking for Inside Out, but they didn’t have it. Unfortunately it’s about twenty degrees too hot to even consider skating so I mostly have to stick inside all the time. That’s pretty much it thus far. I get sunburned everyday as well.
